The current President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari was in the early hours of Wednesday declared winner of the just concluded Nigerian elections.

The Nigeria electoral body ,Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman Mahmood Yakubu declared this at about 3am Nigerian time.

76-year-old Buhari won about 56% percent of the total votes cast while the main opposition Atiku Abubakar Shared the remaining spoils with other party candidates.

The candidate of the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC) and incumbent Nigeria president Buhari amassed a whopping 15.2 million votes while his main rival scored 11.3 million votes representing about 41% of the votes cast.

The Winner has gone to say a big thank you to all those who voted him in and to God who has given him another opportunity to lead his people.

The elections which were plagued by various irregularities and violence was held on Saturday 23rd February but the results were only fully compiled today.

The state of the elections wasn’t welcomed by many of the Nigerian citizens as they have said various things negatively about the electoral process.

Atiku Abubakar who came out 2nd best has come out to say that he and his party won’t accept the results and would further change it, at the courts of law.
