The Apex court in Nigeria; the Supreme Court on Wednesday 30th October 2019 dismissed the appeals filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar that challenged the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the February 23 elections in Nigeria.

The team which consisted of seven Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) members was led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Mohammed. The team said they have been studying the case for over two weeks and saw no merits in the appeal.

Further details about the reasons for the dismissal will be shared subsequently, but Atiku had since gone on his Twitter social handle page to decry on the state of the Nation’s judicial, electoral and democratic systems.

He and his party were not pleased with the judgment, but cannot go further as it is the final judgment given by the apex court of the land.
