Following the upspring of the operation Amotekun by the coalition of SouthWest governors, the Northern region has sprung up with a similar outfit called the operation Shege Ka Fasa.
This was unveiled on Wednesday in Kaduna as part of the efforts by the coalition of Northern governors to protecting the lives and properties of their people. The outfit will be fully inaugurated in a few weeks.
The group has already procured vehicles and trained personnel in preparation for the commencement of operation.
The rise in banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism in the region was said to be the brain behind the uprising of the group. This comes barely a month after the West came up with the operation Amotekun.
Spokesman of the Coalition of Northern Group, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman has called on the nineteen state governors in the region to put all hands on deck and support the initiative and help provide the necessary legal framework for its operations.
The groups seek to provide support for the already existing police, military and states security services in curbing crime.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson representing the Kaduna state police command Yakubu Sabo told reporters that it is not aware of the security outfit and they were not contacted before the unveiling. He also stressed that among the list of approved security outfits in the state, Shege Ka Fasa is not recognized.
