SOWORE’S TRIAL RESUMES AS WOLE SOYINKA, OTHERS IN COURT

Professor Wole Soyinka; a Nobel Laureate and former Nigerian Senator Sani were among those present in solidarity at the trial of #RevolutionNow protest convener Omoyele Sowore.

The duo alongside other notable faces in the world of activism was there to give their moral support to Sowore.

Sowore and co-defendant, Olawale Bakare, are facing trial over charges of a treasonable felony for organizing the revolution now protest on August 5, 2019, which the government saw as an attempt to disrupt peace in the country.

It can be recalled that Sowore was arrested on August 3, 2019, by the Department of State Services (DSS) and was kept in their custody up till December 24, 2019, when he was eventually allowed to go on some strong bail conditions by the orders of the Attorney General of the Nation.
