Veteran Nigerian singer who took the continent and other parts of the world by storm, Sir Victor Olaiya has died at the age of 89 at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
Michael Odiong of Premiere Music broke the news out to the media.
He was said to have died at around noon on Wednesday.
The Ekiti State Veteran who was born on 31st December 1930 in Calabar has held his own in the Nigerian highlife music industry.
He retired from his long music career in 2017 and had some hit tracks like Omopupa, Aigana, Pambotoriboto, Opataritius, Mo fe Muyan, Jemila, Kosowo l’ode, Odale Ore, So fun mi, Omolanke, Tina Mate, among others.
His collaboration in the remix of Baby Jowo with Innocent Idibia, Tubaba brought the best of two worlds back in the game.
