Military Crime

At around 5 pm on Sunday evening, the Nigerian Army with help from fighter jets foiled an insurgency attack by Boko Haram bandits in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.

The incident happened around Babangida town, the headquarters of Tarmuwa Local Government council towards the state capital.

The Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Sector 2, Operation Lafiya Dole, Lieutenant Chinonso Oteh, who confirmed the incident, said the planned attacks by the insurgents were repelled.

Even though the residents along the area confirmed that normalcy has returned to the area, they are still afraid of such attacks in the future and urged the government to help them stop this threat.
