The deadly Coronavirus which first occurred in Wuhan China in January 2020 has been spreading across a few countries of the world.
The first major case of COVID-19 in Africa was reported earlier this month in Egypt and another in Algeria a few days ago.
The Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health yesterday released a press statement regarding this development.
The case is an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and returned from Milan, Italy to Lagos, Nigeria on the 25th of February 2020. He was confirmed by the virology Laboratory of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
So far, the patient is clinically stable with no serious symptoms and is being managed at the infectious disease hospital in Yaba, Lagos.
