Nigeria’s screen diva Genevieve Nnaji has been appointed as one of the ambassadors of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Nnaji, an actress and director, joins globally recognized filmmakers including Priyanka Chopra, Tatiana Maslany, Shamier Anderson, and others for the festival scheduled to commence virtually from September 10 to September 19, 2020, in a move that is the first of its kind amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deadline reports that the ambassadors will engage audiences in discussions through an interactive digital experience.
Geoff Macnaughton, Senior Director of Industry & Theatrical, TIFF, said:
In a time of disruption, professionals from around the world still look for occasions to come together, share innovative ideas, buy and sell content, and find creative ways to collectively forge ahead towards a safer, healthier, and inclusive future”
