Nigeria Records 404 New Cases of COVID-19

Nigeria on Tuesday recorded 404 new cases of COVID-19, making it the highest number in four months. This was made known by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), through its official Facebook page on Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 171, 728.

Of the 404 recorded cases, Lagos state has the highest number with 356, as well as the highest number of recorded cases in the country, with 62, 668 people confirmed to have the virus in the state. As reported by the NCDC, so far 164, 837 people have been discharged, with 2,134 deaths.

The new recorded figure exceeds the previous high COVID-19 daily recorded infection rate of 317 reported by the NCDC on July 24.

Nigeria recorded the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in February 2020 and the latest COVID-19 statistics as at July 2021 revealed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) show that there are over 171, 726 confirmed cases out of which 164, 837 have been discharged.
