President Muhammadu Buhari recently commissioned the $1.5 billion railway station project at Ebute-Metta for the enhancement of economic activities in the country. The President who arrived Lagos State on Thursday for the commissioning stated that the railway project will further boost the railway system and enhance port operations in the country. In his words,

We have in the rail sector, further to other ongoing railway infrastructure projects, embarked on the completion of the outstanding segment of the Lagos-Kano railway, which is Ibadan-Kano.
The Lagos-Kano railway project, when completed, will link the Kano-Maradi line at Kano and a rail link from the Nigeria Southern ports of Lagos to Maradi in the Niger Republic”.
Recall that the President was also in Lagos in 2019 to commission the Ayinke House Maternity Hospital, refurbished by former governor Akinwunmi Ambode, located in Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja; Eko Theatre, Oshodi International Airport Road, and a number of buses and terminals.
