Protest in Osun as EFCC Raid Parts of the State

Youths in Oshogbo, Osun State have taken to the streets to protest the recent harassment by EFCC officials in some parts of the state. Sources revealed that some EFCC officials raided parts of the state early in the morning, taking away valuables and arresting some youths, suspected to be Internet fraudsters.

Eyewitness account disclosed that earlier today, youths converged in their numbers at Lamenco junction with placards, protesting the growing harassment by the EFCC. A source told News Now Africa that youths of Osun State are frequently harassed, extorted and arrested by the EFCC, so this was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

Recall that last year heralded a nationwide protest to stop incessant police brutality, extortion, harassment, killings and bad governance, as youth expressed their anger and frustrations over security operatives and the government.

Normalcy has now been restored in the state as security personnel have been stationed to calm the situation.
